Connect Instagram DM

Instagram messaging runs on Meta's platform, so setup is close to Messenger.

Requirements

1. An Instagram professional (Business/Creator) account connected to a Facebook Page.
2. A Meta app with Instagram messaging and the instagram_manage_messages permission.
3. A Page Access Token and your Instagram Business Account ID.

1. Create the channel

1. Open Settings → Channels → Add Channel → Instagram DM.
2. Fill in:
   • Instagram Business Account ID
   • Page Access Token
   • App Secret (optional)
3. Save.

2. Register the webhook

Chatku shows a Callback URL and Verify Token. In Meta:

1. Open your app's Webhooks (Instagram) → paste the Callback URL and Verify Token → Verify and Save.
2. Subscribe your Page and tick the messages field for Instagram.

3. Test

Send a DM to your Instagram account. It lands in Conversations; replies from Chatku are delivered as Instagram DMs.

Like Messenger, Instagram messaging has a 24-hour reply window after the customer's last message.
