Connect LINE

LINE uses the Messaging API. Since September 2024 you can no longer create a Messaging API channel from the LINE Developers Console — you enable it on a LINE Official Account first, then grab its keys.

1. Create a LINE Official Account

At the LINE Official Account Manager sign in with your LINE Business ID and create an Official Account (name, category, etc.).

2. Enable the Messaging API

In the LINE Official Account Manager → Settings (⚙) → Messaging API → Enable Messaging API, and select or create a Provider. This links the account to the LINE Developers Console.

You'll now see, on that same Messaging API page:

  • Channel ID
  • Channel secret — copy it.

3. Issue the Channel access token

The access token is not on the Official Account Manager page — it lives in the Developers Console:

  1. Open the LINE Developers Console → your Provider → the Messaging API channel (matching the Channel ID above).
  2. Open the Messaging API tab → Channel access token (long-lived) → Issue → copy it.

4. Create the channel in Chatku

  1. Settings → Channels → Add Channel → LINE.
  2. Paste the Channel secret and Channel access token, then Save.
  3. Chatku shows a Webhook URL — copy it.

5. Set the webhook + switch to Bot mode

  1. Developers Console → your channel → Messaging API tab → set the Webhook URL to the address from Chatku → Verify → enable Use webhook.
  2. LINE Official Account Manager → Settings → Response settings:
    • Response mode: Bot (not "Chat").
    • Webhooks: ON
    • Auto-reply messages / Greeting messages: OFF

If a customer gets an automatic reply like "Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately this account can't respond to your messages directly…", auto-reply is still on — the message went to LINE's canned reply instead of your inbox. Fix it with the settings above (Response mode = Bot, Auto-reply OFF).

6. Test

Add your Official Account as a friend (QR code is on the Messaging API tab) and send it a message. It appears in Conversations; replies from Chatku are pushed back to the same chat.

What comes through: text, images, videos, audio, files, location, and stickers (shown as the sticker image). Agents reply with text and media from the inbox.

Troubleshooting: if messages don't arrive, the usual cause is Auto-reply still on / Response mode = Chat or Use webhook off (step 5). Also make sure you issued the access token in the Developers Console (step 3), not just the Channel secret.
