Connect X (Twitter) DM

Chatku receives X direct messages through the Account Activity API and sends replies with the X API.

⚠️ Receiving DMs via the Account Activity API requires an elevated / enterprise X API tier. Make sure your access level supports it before setting this up.

What you need

Create an app at developer.x.com with Read and Write + Direct Messages permissions, then collect:

• API Key (Consumer Key) and API Secret (Consumer Secret)
• Access Token and Access Token Secret
• Bot User ID — the numeric id of the app's X account

1. Create the channel

1. Open Settings → Channels → Add Channel → X (Twitter) DM.
2. Fill in the four credentials and the Bot User ID.
3. Save.

2. Register the webhook

Chatku shows a Webhook URL. Register it with the Account Activity API:

1. Add the Webhook URL to your app — X sends a CRC challenge which Chatku answers automatically.
2. Subscribe the app's account to the Account Activity API so incoming DMs are delivered.

3. Test

Send a DM to your X account. It appears in Conversations; replies from Chatku are delivered as X direct messages.
