Notifications: Sound and Browser Alerts

Chatku can alert you the moment a new message arrives, even when the tab isn't focused.

Sound alerts

A notification sound plays when a new message lands while the dashboard tab is in the background. Make sure your device isn't muted and your browser is allowed to play sound for the site.

Browser (desktop) notifications

The first time you use the dashboard, your browser asks permission to show notifications. Allow it, and you'll get a desktop popup for new messages even when Chatku is in another tab or minimised.

If you dismissed the prompt, re-enable notifications from your browser's site settings (the padlock icon in the address bar → Notifications → Allow), then reload.

Web push

On supported plans, Chatku also delivers web push notifications so you're alerted even when the dashboard isn't open. Grant permission when prompted.

Not getting alerts?

• Confirm the browser has notification permission for the site.
• Check the device isn't in Do Not Disturb / Focus mode.
